The delegations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov from Azerbaijan and Deputy Foreign Minister Sodiq Imomi from Tajikistan, the Azerbaijani ministry told AzVision.az.
Deputy Minister Khalafov informed the other side about the new realities in the region after the 44-day war and the restoration and construction work carried out in Azerbaijani territories liberated from Armenian occupation. He spoke about Azerbaijan's efforts to ensure that Azerbaijani IDPs return to their homes with dignity and that lasting stability and security prevail in the region.
Khalafov also noted that work is underway to open transport and communication lines and that the Zangazur corridor, a reality of the post-conflict period, has created new opportunities for Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan.
Imomi stressed that over the past 30 years, significant progress had been made in further developing relations in various fields of cooperation, noting that Tajikistan has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
